International Scholarship Awarded to Beverly Nelson

The Australian Mutuals Foundation is pleased to offer its first International Scholarship for a director or an employee of a Pacific Nation Credit Union to attend the ACCU 35th DE workshop in February 2024 in Bangkok. Please join us in congratulating Beverly Nelson from Papua New Guinea who is the first person to be awarded this scholarship.


Beverly has been recognised for her involvement in the Mutuals industry and is currently the Chair of the Papua New Guinea Ports Savings and Loans Society and Deputy Chair of the Federation of Savings and Loans Societies (FESALOS) which is the peak body for credit unions and savings and loans societies in Papua New Guinea.


Beverly currently works for the Papua New Guinea Ports Corporation as their Business Development Manager and has worked in various positions at the corporation since 2011. Previously she worked for Bank of Papua New Guinea and ANZ Bank (PNG) Ltd.


Beverly has a Bachelor of Economics Degree, Graduate Diploma with Merit-Public Administration-ANU, Masters in Public Policy, Economic Policy- ANU and a Diploma in Project Management.

In her spare time, Beverly assists local groups of women to raise funds to pay for school fees and provide opportunities for women and girls in Papua New Guinea who are in need of financial assistance to support themselves and their families.
