For many of us, Christmas is a season filled with celebration, family and festive cheer. But for thousands of children across Australia, the holidays can be an especially difficult and isolating time. Children experiencing poverty, abuse, homelessness or family hardship often miss out on the simple joy of unwrapping a present on Christmas morning.
Â
That’s why the Australian Mutuals Foundation is proud to again support Barnardos Australia Gifts for Kids Christmas Appeal, which aims to bring hope and happiness to the children and young people in Barnardos’ care by helping to provide gifts this Christmas.
Â
This wonderful appeal ensures that every child feels seen, valued and cared for during what can otherwise be an incredibly tough time. One small gift can spark a moment of magic and a memory that lasts a lifetime.
How you can help make a difference
You can help brighten a child’s Christmas in a way that’s simple, meaningful and truly impactful. Here are the ways to get involved:
Choose a gift online Browse and purchase toys through the Barnardos Simply Giving platform. Your chosen gift will be delivered directly to a child or young person at one of the Barnardos centres.
Set up a toy drive Encourage others to get involved by starting an online or in-office toy drive. Together, your team can help bring joy to children who may otherwise go without.Â
Make an online donation Every dollar makes a difference. A monetary contribution helps Barnardos ensure no child misses out on a gift this Christmas.
Purchase a gift card for teens Gift cards are a great option for teenagers. Choose a gift card online and Barnardos will share with the young people they support.
Â
This Christmas, the Australian Mutuals Foundation invites our supporters, partners and community to stand with Barnardos in bringing joy to children who need it most. Together, we can help create memories filled with hope and happiness during the festive season.
