The Australian Mutuals Foundation (AMF) has been recognised by the Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) for its support in promoting credit unions and financial co-operatives as vehicles for the socio-economic improvement of the lives of the people of Asia.
At the Asian Credit Union forum held this week in Thailand, ACCU acknowledged AMF's support of the education program of ACCU to raise awareness of climate change's impacts on Credit Unions and co-operative in Asia and promoting credit unions in Laos PDR and Timor Leste.
With AMF support, ACCU produced two business solutions:- a Guide to Credit Unions on Climate Action, and an Assessment Tool for Green Cooperative.
Director Mark Worthington and Manager Brian Bennett accepted the Award on behalf of Australian Credit Unions/Mutuals and Cooperatives.
